Breast Augmentation Breast Augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures. Currently, implants remain the safest and most effective way of enlarging breasts.
Implants are placed under the breast tissue or under the pectoralis muscle. The procedure typically takes 1 hour to perform. Patients are all counseled to limit their activity for about 1 week after surgery.
During our initial consultation, we will use a portfolio of pictures and multiple actual breast sizers to determine the best implant for body type. Saline vs. Silicone Two types of breast implants are used in our practice; Silicone and Saline breast implants. The modern silicone breast implant is a cohesive gel material not a liquid or semi liquid as were the silicone breast implants of the 1970’s and 1980’s. During our consultation appointment the patient informed about both types of implants with their relative pros and cons. The patient will make the final choice as to the type of implant after taking all the information presented and Dr. Stefanacci’s recommendations. For more information on implants please refer to our Breast Augmentation procedure summary available for you to download. Breast Lift A Breast Lift is necessary when age and life experiences change the shape and firmness of your breasts. During a breast lift, excess skin is removed and the nipple is repositioned for a more aesthetic appearance. Often an implant is also necessary for achieving optimum results. Breast Reduction Breast Reduction surgery can transform heavy, pendulous breasts into smaller more uplifted breasts. Breast Reduction surgery often alleviates neck and shoulder pain. This is sometimes a covered benefit of some health insurance plans. |
